    This book deserves 5 stars simply because of how engrossing it is. It is a big book, by anyone's standards, yet I was hooked and intrigued the whole way through. There are just so many good things to say about this book. If you want a fantasy series that will intrigue you and pull you into a new, fascinating world where grand dramas play out across lifetimes and nations try this book. I promise you won't be disappointed.

    This book and those that follow in the series are some of the greatest books I've read in the Sci - Fi section. Raymond E Feist is without a doubt an incredible writer and if you love this genre then his books should be on your physical/digital shelves.

    Wonderfully written and well executed. There is so much depth to the characters their different cultures and worlds. There was a great sense of pace and timing which left me hooked! I only had one issue with the book and that was Feist's over use of "pug said, Thomas said, Martin said" but despite this it didn't detract from the quality of the writing very much. Big thumbs up I will be reading a lot more of his work, not to mention the next two books in this trilogy.
