About the author

    I have been a Christian for more than 50 years and found this book exciting and refreshing. Many Christians seem to have created a God who is simply a larger version of themselves. One who is perfect, yes, but one who is restricted by the limits of their own minds. Rob Bell suggests that God is bigger than any of our imaginings and capable of things that we cannot possibly understand. Why is this so hard for some Christians to accept? It is all backed up by scripture. Why must we limit our amazing God to what our human minds are able to understand? He is God, therefore He is bigger and better and capable of so much more than we can ever dream of or imagine. Rob challenges our thinking and that can only be good. Let's not get stuck in tradition and religion. Let's be open to the fact that while the Bible is the word of God, we can seriously limit what He is saying by closing our minds to different interpretations.

  • Heartbreaking

    To see someone so influential subject scripture to this kind of abuse is simply painful. I have found sentiments in here that I adore, but they're surrounded by such destructive theology that I cannot possibly recommend it. Avoid if at all possible.
